Lip Sync

When my cousin came up to visit last month, she asked me about these old lip syncing videos we used to make when we were like, 14. So, I dug it out and we laughed our asses off at dorky-selves.

So, without further ado, with the power of YouTube and my digital camera… here is Nicki and I lip syncing “This Time” by Janet Jackson. It’s a 14 year old VHS, so it’s a little grainy, but you get the idea. Enjoy!

  1. That’s great! I was just thinking about kids lip-synching, wondering if they still make videos like that. When I was 10 years old, my friends and I did an absurd dance/lip synch to Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up”- we did it for a Stark County Board of Education meeting, with a whole bunch of principals and stuff! I was in a gifted education program and a group of us were invited to perform a talent at a board meeting- I think they thought we’d do something impressive and “gifted” like play the violin or something. But no, we lip synched. I’m really embarrased to imagine my scrawny, 60 pound self gyrating around for a bunch of school officials! Who let us do that? “I’ve been a fool before wouldn’t like to get my love caught in the slammin’ door…”

  2. lol omg omg that is funny. i also was in a lip sync contest…..at school….those were the days! and steph i seriously had that shirt you wore.

great and thank you for the smile! i needed it!

  3. Hello Ms. Stephanie,I like your site. You worked hard to make it simple yet elegant. The video is a nice touch. I see that you have a bright future in show business!I like to write articles about God and religion on my site. I want to help people to really get to know God, especially in these troubled times. Jesus gave us a message of hope that is in the Bible: “And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then, finally, the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14) (NLT) I hope you get a chance to look at them.
